Dog Days are over

Well that was a great afternoon for our first Dog Days – A Photography Play Day. Glad to see a few people turn up as I was afraid I’d be there by myself with just my camera for company…well I knew that wouldn’t be the case as I’d organised my husband to come out with our 4 year old granddaughter and our cockapoo!

Once we’d all arrived I started off by showing some simple tips on how to find the best light, how to position yourself to take the photos and how to look for the best backgrounds, that done we set off on our walk around Sibster stopping off at a few of my favourite places that I tend to use when taking photos of my dogs.

I think I managed to give a few useful tips but I can say that we all had a bit of fun and the dogs definitely had a lot of fun!

I will be running one of these days again later in the year so just look out for it being advertised if you want to join in.

I was asking for donations for KWK9 and Balmore Rescue Centre and took in £20 from the people that came along. I’ll add the same amount in myself so that will be £20 each to both of these very worthwhile local animal rescue centres.

While I was taking photos with my professional camera I much prefer using my when out with the dogs so for once I’ll say that the professional ones are maybe not as good as the phone ones would have been!
