Industry Competitions – February 2019

As a member of 2 of the leading photography organisations within the UK I like to enter their monthly competitions on a regular basis to gauge the standard of my regular client work against the industry standards. Those judging these competitions hold qualifications of Fellowship, Master and Grandmaster so know exactly what makes an image award worthy.

By entering these competitions and being awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold merits ensures that the images I am producing for my clients is above the “saleable image” standard which is the base standard every photographer should be attaining when charging for their work.

I have rejoined The Guild of Photographers this year and entered 9 of my Pet Portraits into their competition. The results for The Guild are published on the 21st of every month (Jan-Oct). I was delighted to see when I logged in yesterday that all of my entered images had been awarded Bronze and 1 image was Silver. Of the Bronzes, 6 out of 8 were deemed to be High Bronze meaning that with a few tweaks could have attained Silver Awards! I’m happy with that!

Here are the awarded images of the gorgeous dogs entered!
